Wieso sind Biopolymere so Ökologisch?

Why are biopolymers so eco-friendly?

Prof. Alexander Böker, Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Polymer Research, Potsdam: “We take building blocks straight from nature and incorporate them into polymers, and thereby we avoid additional carbon dioxide emissions.”

Prof. Dr. Alexander Böker, Fraunhofer Institut für Angewandte Polymerforschung, Potsdam: “We take building blocks straight from nature and incorporate them into polymers, and thereby avoid additional carbon dioxide emissions.”

Kathrin Franck, Tumaly, Mühlenbeck: “And on the other hand, we all know about the problem with plastic bottles in the oceans, and the question is: in five years’ time, will it be nappies in the oceans?”

Dr. Joachim Venus, Leibniz-Institut für Agrartechnik und Bioökonomie Potsdam: “And then there is the problem with microplastics; plastics can actually be found all around the globe and we unintentionally consume them through the food chain. And I don’t think that anybody wants that.”

Dr. Felix Reiche, hesco: “So when the production of biopolymers really takes place at the regional level, we have much more control over the supply chain, a better control over the ingredients, and we could control it much better; this applies also to us as a processor. And we could increase the trust as to which ingredients are actually in it and thereby offer the end consumer a product that is guaranteed to be free of harmful additives.”
