“Yes, the polylactic acids can be produced thanks to agricultural production and mostly from waste products. They are made out of starches, proteins and carbohydrates originating from agricultural production.”

Felix Reiche, hesco: “So when pupils and trainees come into contact with renewable raw materials, with plastics made from renewable raw materials, for the first time and see that they work just as well, that they are just as good, but no longer have to be pumped out from deep underground, but can actually grow on a field, then—I think—the educational benefit is huge, and we of course hope that this will lead to a greater acceptance in society with regard to the possible higher costs associated with biopolymers.”
