One process, two solutions
The LXP Group produces bioplastics out of organic residual materials. In addition, the organic components are separated from the plastic residues in household waste. This approach received the Sustainability Award from Economic Development Agency Brandenburg.
LXP Group’s award-winning recycling process
The LXP Group is researching the optimal way to recycle household waste. The organic components are converted into polylactic acid (a bioplastic)by means of lactic acid fermentation. The plastics from the waste, on the other hand, are separated and recycled. LXP received the Sustainability Award from Economic Development Agency Brandenburg for this process.
The separation of the components is cumbersome, but the LXP team is confident that all the work is worthwhile. “LXP cooperates with a relatively large number of partners, some of which have been directed to us by Economic Development Agency Brandenburg. This allowed us to discuss the problems various recycling companies have and to find out how our technology could help them,” said Friedrich Streffer.
